Magnetic Product Description:

This popular rare earth cylinder has a diameter of 3mm and a height of 3mm. It is an N50 grade rare earth magnet. It has a magnetic flux reading of 6480 Gauss and a pull force of 0.317 kg. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number C-D3H3-N50.

Uses for our rare earth cylinder magnets:

The powerful magnetic field produced by Rare Earth Cylinder magnets is narrower and more focused than a thinner disc-shaped magnet. These characteristics make cylinder magnets ideal for penetrating thin substrates and locating metal that is not necessarily visible with the naked eye. For this reason they are the magnet shape most frequently used in magnetic equipment that is designed to detect or retrieve such as stud finders or pick up tools. They are often a key component of commercially made magnetic products that are designed to have a similar function.

Small rod magnets such as these are incredibly adaptable and they lend themselves to a large array of applications. Cylindrical magnets are a good choice for handcrafted items including delicate woodwork or refined ceramics as they can be recessed into the material to provide a permanent and reliable hold with minimal visual impact. Magnets can be used in this way to create a magnetic latch or a means of displaying an art or craft piece without disrupting the visual effect.
