Uses for our ferrite disc magnets:

Of all our natural resources, it is hard to imagine what could possibly be of more primary importance, more fundamental to life, than water. Potable, that is drinkable, water. Without clean water how can anything else possibly function in ways we are accustomed to?

In order to maintain fresh water for humans and for every other form of life, magnets, including these tiny, economical, 6mmx5mm ferrite disc magnets, really come to the fore. Magnets play vital direct and indirect roles in keeping this most precious of all resources fit for consumption for humans and all other life forms.

Industry uses huge volumes of water. Water is used to cool plant and equipment. Mine sites use water to control (coal) dust generated by mining activity. Magnets attached to grates or filters at electrical power stations and other industrial sites help remove heavy metals from the water, allowing the water to be recycled back into the industrial cycle, or readying the water for discharge into lakes or rivers. Variations on this type of reclamation or treatment of water are repeated in scope and scale across industry, waterways of all kinds and across the country.

Magnetic power is used turn hard water, unfit for human consumption, and damaging to vegetation and many appliances and built surfaces, into soft water, fit for human consumption, without making physical contact with the water itself. Small suitcase sized devises housing powerful magnets are bolted or clamped to the exterior of polyethylene (common) water pipe, 50mm or so in diameter. The magnetic force thus applied to the water flowing inside that section of the pipe smashes or dissembles impurities suspended in the water.

That is, without breaching the surface of the water pipe or the plumbing apparatus, salt, rust and heavy metals contained in the water are dismantled. This simple process turns hard water into soft water, prolonging the life of all surfaces and appliances in contact with the treated water and improving the well-being of plants and animals ingesting the water.

Our ferrite disc magnets come in a variety of sizes and strengths. Often used on the back of three dimensional fridge magnets. Epoxy glue is recommended for ferrites once the bonding surface has been cleaned and dried of the thin film of magnetic powder often found on these magnets.
