This neodymium ring magnet measures 1/2" (OD) x 1/4" (ID) x 1/8" (T) and has a pull force of 2 kg. GRADE N38.

Uses for neodymium ring magnets:

Manufacturing and heavy industry use many types of ring magnets. School projects, arts, and craft industries and shopfitting companies use magnets for hidden fasteners in many of their outdoor advertising signs, including the sliding banner signs often installed near bus stops, and fixed roadside billboards. Changing individual signs within these scrolling and unscrolling advertising is made simpler and quicker with magnetic fasteners. Neodymium ring magnets act as the connective tissue in these arrangements without damaging the underlying material because the magnetic holding power is transferred through materials, without breaching the material itself. This allows advertisers to choose from a wider range of banner material than may be the case with clips or staples which may tear or damage the sign.

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
